Description
If you are an SLP who works with preschoolers and early intervention kids via telepractice, you need to have a lot planned to keep their attention. These spring themed lesson plans are designed to promote language development for late talkers and preschool kids with language delay. I’ve developed a format to provide some structure for my online speech therapy sessions that includes about 50% parent coaching. I use a different theme for each session, which is consistent throughout all of my direct intervention materials.
These themed lesson plans includes a standard template for planning telepractice sessions with two to four year olds that balances direct intervention with parent coaching. It includes 9 spring themed lesson plans that follow the following format:
- Read a book
- Watch a video
- Activity to elicit language
- Parent/e-helper coaching
The nine themes included are rainbow, rainbow 2, garden, garden 2, Easter, bunnies, bunnies 2, ducks, and butterflies.
These spring themed lesson plans include a combination of:
- A list of recommended apps, websites, and physical materials for providers and families. All apps are for iOS devices (e.g., iPhone or iPad). However, there are website and coloring worksheet alternatives for those who may not have an iOS device).
- Suggested prompts to use to elicit language
- Two corresponding THEMED Boom Card decks to address language and vocabulary concepts
- Corresponding Coloring Worksheet alternatives for those who may not have recommended toys
By purchasing these lesson plans, you will have access to my curated list of online books and videos, Boom Cards, and customized coloring worksheets. These worksheets can be sent to parents or e-helpers to print for use during your telepractice or distance learning sessions.
I am a telepractice speech-language pathologist, so all of the materials that I’ve created work well via telepractice. However, these lesson plans are also well-suited for in-person intervention, and can be used for group instruction for language enrichment or by parents at home with their children.
I use these lesson plans in my own practice, and they have been a LIFESAVER!
Take the stress out of planning for your telepractice sessions with preschoolers and early intervention kids by purchasing this resource.
