The countdown to Winter is officially on—and this is one of my favorite seasons for telepractice! I love incorporating themes into my speech therapy sessions, especially during the colder months when kids are excited about snow, cozy activities, and upcoming holidays.
From November through January, we see so many opportunities to bring joy and engagement into therapy. At the same time, it’s essential to stay culturally responsive. Not every family celebrates the same holidays, which is why I always include plenty of neutral “Winter” themed activities alongside Christmas options throughout December and January.
If you enjoyed my Thanksgiving Telepractice Activities blog post, this Winter edition follows the same easy-to-navigate structure. You’ll find a curated list of activities organized by grade level. In my sessions, I typically select three to four activities each week and adapt them to individual goals—but I’ve included a wide variety here so you can choose what works best for your students and your caseload. My hope is that this collection helps streamline your lesson planning as we head into Christmas and the early Winter months.
A quick note before we dive in: I do not endorse any of the resources listed below, nor do I receive commissions from them (with the exception of Telepractice Tools). All activities can be accessed directly online. Some may require a free account if you don’t already have one (such as Epic or Boom LearningSM).
And before you jump into the activity list, here are a few helpful tricks:
- If you need extra stimulus items for reinforcers, I frequently use materials from www.homespeechhome.com or their World Vault mobile app.
- To quickly find activities for a specific grade or goal area, use CTRL+F (Windows) or COMMAND+F (Mac). Type in the keyword you’re looking for and your matches will be highlighted instantly.
Enjoy the Winter fun!

- Articulation

This resource includes a comprehensive product that covers all elementary grade levels and follows my standard telepractice planning template.
It is organized into three leveled groups to support differentiation:

In addition to the all-elementary version, I also offer a Winter-Themed Lesson Plan Bundle for K–2nd grade, featuring 7 themes to keep sessions engaging and easy to plan. Both options help streamline planning while giving you the flexibility to target a variety of goals in fun, winter themes.
As of November 2025, ABCYA no longer offers all of its games and activities for free. There is a list of free weekly games, but the entire library of games is included in the paid subscription options. These activities can be used to target articulation, language, and fluency goals. For preschool children who are working on expanding their utterances or vocabulary, they can use activities such as Make a Snowman to request the “red scarf” or say “Can I have red scarf?” For older elementary students working on articulation, they can read the word lists and then form their own sentences using target words in an activity such as Christmas Word Search.
